Samantha Stosur of Australia made a full stop for nine consecutive wins of Wimbledon women’s champ Serena Williams in the quarter final match at WTA Bank of West Classic at Stanford on Friday. Stosur made a victory over Serena by 2-6, 6-3, 2-6 in the match. After winning Stosur said,” It's one of the biggest, if not the biggest win of my career. I would like to take it one more step. I would love to make it to another final. She added, “We don't always play our best tennis every single day. Maybe she didn't play her best and I played very well”. Serena said, “She played well and didn't do anything bad. She went for broke and struck all her balls as hard as she could. She never lets you get into a rhythm”. She added, “She had a lot of lucky shots. She's a good framer. But it's obviously all talent. She has mastered that”. In another match, Serena sister’s Venus William won the quarter final against Maria Sharapova of Russia by direct sets 6-2, 6-2. In her next match, she is meeting Russia’s Elena Dementieva for the semi-final. After the match Venus said, “Maria is one of my favorite opponents. She's always a challenge. I was better in the important points which are what I wanted. She added " I'm going to try and do more of what I did tonight”.
