Young Archiever: Martina Hingis

A young achiever Martina Hingis was born on 30-sep-1980. She was named after women's tennis legend Martina Navratilova by her parents. Her mother Melanie Molitor coached her tennis. Her most memorable moments was winning her first career title Australian open in the year 1997 and defending the same title next year. During of age 12, she becomes a youngest achiever by winning junior French open title. In the year of 1997, she becomes youngest women’s world no 1 in the ATP ranking and in the same year she won Wimbledon title and US open title and left only the French open title. In 1998, she carried all women doubles grand slam title and she becomes third women to hold simultaneously the no 1 position both in singles and doubles. In 1999, again she reclaimed the Australian open singles and doubles title and marked a history for three consecutive holds of title in both singles and doubles. In 2000, she again got a chance to win both singles and doubles title of Australian open but unfortunately she lost the both. She holds the world no 1 position for nearly 209 weeks in her career. In the year of 2003, she announced her retirement due ankle injuries. During the retirement, she had 36 doubles title and 40 singles title in her career.
