Del Porto stopped Federer's Road

A 20 year old Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro on Monday made a remarkable victory over a 15 time grand slam winner Federer on the US open by 6-3,6-7,6-4,6-7,2-6. It was his first career crown for Del Porto and also first win over Federer in the last seven meets. He was second Argentine to win the US open next to Guillermo Vilas, who takes it in 1977. After taking the championship Del Porto said, “When I lay down to the floor, many things come to my mind, First my family and my friends and everything. I don't know how I can explain, because it’s my dream. My dream (is) done. It’s over. I will go home with a trophy, and it’s my best sensation ever in my life”. “It was tough luck today, but I thought Juan Martin played great,” Federer said. “Five was great, four was great, too. Six would have been a dream, too,” Federer said of his US Open run. “(You) can’t have them all. I’ve had an amazing summer and a great run. I’m not too disappointed just because I thought I played another wonderful tournament. (I) had chances today to win, but couldn’t take them. It was unfortunate”. Del Porto was nervous during first set and he loosed it by 3-6. During second set, Federer headed Del Porto by 5-3 but argentine bounced back greatly to own the set. Though Argentine looses the third set, he fought confidently to take two sets in a row and lift the championship.
