Andy Roddick marked his 500th victory

Andy Roddick marked his fabulous 500th victory in Legg Mason Classic tennis at Washington here on Thursday. It is one of the prestigous milestones for Andy in his tennis career. He was 36th player overall and 4th active tennis star to make 500 victories next to Switzerland’s Roger Federer who has record of 657 wins, Spain’s Carlos Moya 573 wins and Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt 511 wins. He achieved this milestone in his home town against his same country man Sam Querrey by 6-7 and 6-4 direct sets. After the match Andy said, "It is validation of consistency in my career". He added, “You know that's the equivalent in baseball of something like 500 home runs. And that's kind of a milestone in tennis. So, it's certainly a pleasure to do it here in Washington. And it's a very humbling experience, and who knows, maybe we'll try for 500 more." His first career win was against Fernando Vicente in Miami of Florida on march 2000.He marked his 100th win in the year October 2002 against James Blake in Basel of Switzerland. Andy marked the fastest serve 153 mph in the tennis history. He has entered five times in the Grand slam finals and got U.S open in the year 2003.
